I am sitting here faced with some revelations as I sit and
reflect on my year. Reflecting on what my accomplishments and goals for 2012
were, and thinking about how I approached the year, and am finishing it
up. I have learned that thus far that
life happens and time goes on and you have to learn to embrace it as it
comes. When you only embrace what feels
good to you, you miss an opportunity of growth.
Needless to say, I have missed a few opportunities. In all honesty my actions did not match my
goals or desires. I forgot to keep
enjoying the journey. I know we all
start out strong because of the excitement of doing something new, but then
when reality kicks in and a curve is thrown into the equation some people, me,
begin to lose their spark. I began to
decline; I stop growing, I stop reaching for that next level, and lost focus.
I remember when I started my fitness
journey. It started out okay, but then
it got really rocky, then better again.
With this last turn of fate, I can remember going into the gym as my
goal was to trim the fat and build up the muscles in my body. With every push and pull of that heavy
weight, feeling that my body was going to break into, feeling the ripping of my
muscles with every rep I perform, set after set. Honestly, the only thing that kept me going
at times was the excitement of another level accomplished, sometimes knowing
that I have beat my best from the previous time; and sometimes I’m just excited
that I made it through my workout. Well,
this journey is not over. I have had
some improvements, now it is time to get serious. No lip service, just work and let that show
how badly I want to achieve this milestone.
Diet and rest is the most important in this journey. I am committed to implementing all three phases
to reach my goal. I will be held
accountable for my actions. Who better
to have to face than the woman in the mirror?
It’s time to Dig Deeper!
